New digital service for schools

The Stadtbibliothek Bremen is now launching the digital school BIBCARD in cooperation with the Senator for Children and Education. Students and teachers in Bremen now have the opportunity to register for a library card directly via their school iPads . The new service was presented on Monday together with Bremen Senator for Children and Education Sascha Aulepp.

The new service simplifies the registration process for school classes and gives students and teachers direct access to the Stadtbibliothek - including LinkedIn Learning , Onleihe , Filmfriend and much more. You can also borrow books with the BIB CARD .
Registration is easy and straightforward via the schools' iPads; an additional declaration of consent from the parents is not required . Once registered, the BIB CARD not only be transferred to the school iPad, but also to the wallet function of the private smartphone and can also be used outside of class.

Expansion of the Stadtbibliothek ’s digital services

“The introduction of the digital school BIBCARD significantly simplifies the processes between schools and Stadtbibliothek and makes access to our extensive offerings even easier,” explains Lucia Werder, director of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen . “This is an important step to promote digital education in Bremen and to make access to knowledge and information easier for everyone.”

The project was financially supported with funds from the Senator for Finance's special reinforcement fund, which is available for digital administration and citizen services.
