How can I use the city library?

I need a card for the city library.
The ID is called: Bibcard. The Bibcard costs money. I pay the money once a year.

How much does a Bibcard cost?

  • I am a child, student or refugee. The Bibcard does not cost any money.
  • I am 18 to 27 years old. The Bibcard costs 16 euros.
  • I am 28 to 64 years old. The Bibcard costs 26 euros.
  • I get a pension or don't have a job. The Bibcard costs 16 euros. For this I need a certificate from the office.
  • I am 65 years or older. The Bibcard costs 16 euros.

I'm bringing the media back late. What happens?

I have to pay money. It costs 30 cents for each item, each day.

How long can I borrow media?

I can keep most media for 3 weeks. Then I have to return them. I have to watch out for myself when the 3 weeks are over. I have to hand in media on time. The date is also on the receipt.

How can I keep media longer?

I'm going to the city library. I say to an employee: Please extend my media. I give the employee my Bibcard. Then I can keep the media again for 3 weeks. Or: I'll call the city library. The telephone number is: 0421 361-24465

How do I get a Bibcard?

I bring these things with me:

  • Personal ID card or travel passport with registration certificate from the Bremen Residents' Registration Office.
  • Money for the Bibcard.
  • Registration form for the Bibcard: I fill out the registration form. I sign the registration form.

What is important?

The Bibcard is just for me. I am not allowed to give the Bibcard to anyone.
