»What the Fake?! Disinformation – A sneaking attack on our democracy!?”

An event as part of the Sustainability Action Days.
The focus of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen 's “Sustainability Action Week” this year is on the topic of “Democracy”.
We start with a joint visit to the traveling exhibition “Make Media!”, which informs young people about the phenomena of disinformation and fake news, gives important tips on their own media consumption and explains why freedom of expression and freedom of the press are important cornerstones of a democracy. Afterwards, participants will receive insights into the process of creating the exhibition and in-depth background knowledge on the topic of disinformation. We are also looking at various didactic options for working with young people on the themes of the exhibition. Tools and methods from the exhibition's accompanying educational material will be presented and tested. Workshop leader: Johanna Runge, Barbara Westhof.
