»“TippStelle” – Be there live when authors write!«

Description

On Thursday, July 25th, a “tip point” will be set up in the Stadtbibliothek Bremen . The authors Ursula Pickener and Martina Burandt unpack their Olympia Gabriele, a mechanical typewriter, and start their “project for creative word creation” live in interaction with all visitors who stop by intentionally or accidentally: They want literary writing to be a public process Making the interaction of framework conditions, encounters and the processing and transformation processes of the texts visible and audible by the writers. The Olympia Gabriele is pleasantly noticeable acoustically thanks to its rich attack, and sensitive noses can even smell the ink on the ribbon! Those present influence the resulting texts through questions, conversations, silence, looking on or away. And the authors capture the “passing stories”, read them out loud and pass them on to those who are interested.

The “TippStelle” is part of a project founded by the Cologne-based author Frank Osthoff. In mid-April, the VS Bremen (Association of German Writers in ver.di) received the “license to type” from him and is using the format for a fusion of political and literary work. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Basic Law, the authors want, as described above, to connect the place, the people and the view of fundamental rights. They will use current events on the topic of exclusion and democracy, combine them with the location where they set up their tip point and share them with their audience.
