The film, which is 108 minutes long and represents an impressive international collaboration between Chile, Argentina, France and Spain, will be shown in its original Spanish version. Chile, 1948. In a fiery speech to Congress, Senator Pablo Neruda, world-famous poet, communist and bon vivant, accuses President Videla of treason - and is immediately removed from office. Put on a wanted list, he went into hiding with his partner Delia del Carril in the middle of working on his epochal poetry collection “Canto General”. The melancholic police officer Óscar Peluchonneau follows him, torn between hatred and fascination. A game of cat and mouse begins, from which Neruda gains his own, dangerous charm between poetry and the creation of legends.

In 1948, Pablo Neruda perseguido luego declararse illegal el Partido Comunista. With the support of President Gabriel González Videla, the police officer Óscar Peluchonneau initiated the surveillance. Neruda is a Hora a poeta convertedido en arma. Vive en la clandestinidad junto a su mujer Delia del Carril, escribe su Canto General e intenta huir del país mientras Peluchonneau le pisa los talones y respira su aliento. Pero el poeta usa la persecución para reiventarse, convirtiéndose en un símbolo mundial de libertad y en una leyenda literaria.
