Prof. Dr. Holger Ehrhardt: “New insights into the fairy tale sources of the Brothers Grimm”
Description
Grimm's fairy tales and their creation are Holger Ehrhardt's central research field . The German scholar and renowned Grimm and fairy tale researcher has uncovered numerous, previously unknown data and facts about the Brothers Grimm and their fairy tales and discovered groundbreaking things about the orality of tradition.
Erhardt came to interesting results when evaluating the Grimm estate in Berlin and is primarily concerned with these questions: Where do fairy tales come from? Are the statements about the tradition of the Brothers Grimm correct?
Holger Ehrhardt, born in 1964 in Sonneberg, held an endowed professorship for the work and impact of the Brothers Grimm at the University of Kassel from 2012 to 2018. Since 2018 he has been an adjunct professor of German studies with a teaching and research focus on the work and impact of the Brothers Grimm . The Walter Kahn Fairy Tale Foundation honored Holger Ehrhardt with the European Fairy Tale Prize in 2023.
