A woman reads a book to a young girl in a library as they both smile.

»Develop more self-confidence through play through books«

Description

Children need to be aware of their own rights and learn to trust their own feelings. Especially when they are confronted with aggressive behavior from adults: Jacob doesn't want to sit on Aunt Hedda's lap, Aicha gets on the nerves of the teacher's funny comments and Kay avoids the looks of the supervisor at the youth camp and suddenly wants to do it next time no longer ride.

Picture books can help children become more confident and learn to set boundaries. And they can serve as a tool for adults to support their children. On this day we will take you and your children on a little journey through the world of picture books for children from 4 years old to primary school age - using selected copies that enable children to become aware of their own rights and strengthen their resilience.

Organizers: Ninja Kaupa ( Stadtbibliothek Bremen ), Petra Maurer (Intercultural children's book project: eene-meene-kiste), Konni Lerche (Ev. Bildungswerk Bremen).

Drinks & small snacks and a painting activity for the over 3 year olds are offered.
