Jutta Reichelt

I write my story myself. Autobiographical writing as a practice of encouragement. Writing workshop with Jutta Reichelt

Description

In the workshop, the author offers beginners in particular the opportunity to discover autobiographical writing for themselves. For many people, autobiographical writing is associated with questions or doubts: Am I even allowed to do this? How should I start? How to tame the wealth of details and information? Based on her recently published book “My life was not as it was,” author Jutta Reichelt provides insight into her own writing practice and presents approaches and entry points to autobiographical writing that can be tried out immediately. Jutta Reichelt, born in 1967, lives as a writer and story instigator in Bremen. Her texts have received multiple awards. In 2024, Jutta Reichelt will again be involved in the Bremer Literaturhaus series “queer.lit!”, currently with the workshop offering “Queer Writing: Against the Norm!” In 2020, she received the Bremen Senator for Culture’s literary project grant for her work on this text . No prior knowledge is required to take part in the workshop.

Places are limited; prior registration at vegesack@stabi-hb.de is required to participate.

The workshop takes place as part of the “Action Weeks – Together against Exclusion and Discrimination” in the north of Bremen and is a cooperation event between the Stadtbibliothek Bremen and the Partnership for Democracy Bremen North. The Partnerships for Democracy are funded by the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as part of the federal program “Living Democracy!”
