»Host language: read, experience, dream«

The literature festival for Bremen-Nord is back! In spring 2024, readings by authors from Bremen and the surrounding area will take place again throughout the north of Bremen. What’s special about it: The festival depends solely on the initiative and commitment of the authors involved. “Host Language” is a festival into which the authors put a lot of passion and enthusiasm. They organized all the readings themselves,” explains Martin Renz, head of the Vegesack district library.
This year, the start of this inspiring event will once again be an opening reading (Friday, April 5th, 7 p.m.) in the Vegesack district library, through which the audience will gain insights into the work of several authors from Bremen-Nord.
With the support of the Stadtbibliothek workshops took place in advance with the actress and director Franziska Mencz. She helped the authors prepare the opening event.
Under the festival motto “Reading, Experiencing, Dreaming” Anne Achner , Peter Hoops , Eva Hütter , Rega Kerner , Cornelia Knösel , Gerhard Koopmann , Maren Schmidt , Gabriele Stein , Christa Thiekötter , Heide Marie Voigt and Jochen Windheuser present their own and special shorts Texts written for this evening.
