In 2014, the war in Syria had already lasted three years. Farhan Hebbo did not want to become a perpetrator or a victim and decided to flee. Since then he has lived in the Hanseatic city of Bremen and began writing here, including a column in the Weser-Kurier in 2016. Two years later, the “Marie schnackt” language café for refugees was started in Bremen-Huckelriede. A story by Farhan Hebbo is read here every week at the beginning. He himself reads the text in Arabic, followed by translations into Farsi and German. It is his thoughts, poems and stories that are collected in this book. “The coming spring needs space.
