Edvard Hoem , born near Molde in 1949, is one of Norway's leading writers and has received many awards. He has been publishing novels, plays, poems and translations for five decades, for which he has been awarded the Brage Prize (2019), the Norwegian Critics' Prize and the Ibsen Prize, among others. In 2020 he was appointed Commander of the Order of Saint Olav for his services to Norwegian literature and has become a best-selling author in recent years with his historical novels.

Just in time for the start of the reading tour, Hoem's new novel " The Haymaker" , in which he focuses on the topic of the emigration movement to the United States during the 19th century.
