The focus of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen 's “Sustainability Action Week” this year is on the topic of “Democracy”.

The renowned science journalist Dr. Manuela Lenzen has been concerned with the effects of the development of artificial intelligence on people and society for many years. There are great hopes and equally great fears associated with the possible uses of artificial intelligence, from breakthroughs in medical research to the rise of robots to power. Manuela Lenzen describes the basics, the possibilities and limits of artificial intelligence, its most important possible uses and consequences that have already occurred or are yet to come.

Dr. Manuela Lenzen studied philosophy, history, sociology, political science and ethnology in Bochum and Bielefeld. In 2002 she received her doctorate in Bielefeld. Since then, she has worked as a freelance science journalist covering topics from evolutionary research, cognitive science and artificial intelligence.
