The beekeeper Markus Roose removes a honeycomb from a beehive.

»Caring for bees throughout the year«

Description

Like last year, our beekeeper Markus Roose also be telling you everything you need to consider when keeping bees this summer, always on the first Saturday of the month. Watch as he checks the hives (beehives). Let us tell you why three bee colonies did not survive the winter because of parasites and how the new colonies were created. The new bees are certainly so peaceful that you can stand close to the hives to take a look inside. When else do you have the opportunity to observe a colony of bees in your home? The bees collected a lot of nectar and pollen last year and the resulting Vegesacker library honey can be bought locally.

If it's not raining or stormy, Markus Roose will be on Saturdays:

  • 3rd August
  • 7th of September
  • October 5th (in warm weather)

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the garden of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen be with the bees and answer their questions.
