"Alone. Freedom of expression in old age

Description

Human dignity is inviolable – that is stated in the Basic Law.
And we old people are 'vulnerable' - we learned that during the pandemic. For everyone who can't translate the word, there's also a good, old German word: We are "vulnerable" - like our grandchildren... Laws - i.e. the Basic Law - are a construct, not really effective.
Laws are an attempt to do better than the good Lord, who expects us to be vulnerable... How can “the good Lord” allow this!? We have experienced vulnerability throughout our lives - we have something to say about that - but - is democratic freedom of expression enough for that? Or are we out? No longer asked? The author and artist Heide Marie Voigt dares to mix many levels of thinking. She approaches loneliness in old age in a defiant and amusing way. She reports on her own experiences and encourages reflection and a new way of dealing with them.

After the reading there is still time to exchange ideas.

Event in cooperation with the AWO project “The common thread for retirement”.
