The Stadtbibliothek Bremen is a lively institution in tune with the times. We are represented with our libraries in 7 districts and have a library bus that travels to other districts. We have around 150 employees with very different life and work histories. Our libraries are important meeting places for people of all ages - they are places of learning, places of encounter and participation. Several thousand people visit us every day. Many people use our on-site offerings (e.g. workstations, daily newspapers and tablets). In addition to a wide range of analogue and digital media, we also offer everyday items for loan. We inspire with around 2,500 events every year: digital workshops, language cafés, book premieres, interactive offers for kindergartens and school classes and much more. We enable free access to education and information, promote reading and media skills and offer free, attractive meeting rooms that invite you to try things out and get involved.

Your tasks and your future work area:

We are a committed team that takes care of building up the collection in our library with full commitment and great joy.

  • You will take on technical responsibility and organization in inventory development and management for the central library, including the conception and further development of the offering profiles for the editing subjects for which you are responsible (probably in the area of ​​social science subjects)
  • You advise our branches in the editing subjects they are responsible for and take over inventory coordination
  • You are responsible for the budgets, including planning and controlling, for your editing subjects
  • You will actively shape the conceptual and strategic development of processes in the proofreading area
  • Together with the Central Library team, you will advise our visitors (12 hours a week including regular Saturday services) and take care of events
