Tinkering, coding, experimenting – get involved!

Making robots dance or wandering through virtual worlds with VR glasses – is that just for nerds? Not anymore. From October 8th to 23rd, at CodeWeek , children and young people can immerse themselves in the digital worlds of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen and tinker, hack and experiment together in exciting workshops.

At the start of CodeWeek on October 8th, everything in the Central Library revolves around the Makey board sets. Visitors can create sounds on our stair piano And on the action area on the 2nd floor we will show what else is possible with the sets. Of course, the sets can also be rented directly on site. There will also be a station where the mini robots Ozobots and BeeBots can be tried out extensively.

A total of 16 workshops and hands-on activities for tinkering enthusiasts ages 4 and up will take place in our libraries. We show how to teach robots to walk, how figures and drawings can be brought to life digitally or what your first programmed game can look like. And anyone who has always wanted a llama in the library has the opportunity to build their dream library at our Minecraft workshops, for example. Tips for dealing with media in everyday family life can be found at our parent information afternoon.

And if you can't find what you're looking for in our program, you have the opportunity to choose from many other offers at CodeWeek Bremen .

CodeWeek will take place across Europe from October 8th to 23rd. The European CodeWeek was launched in 2013 - since then the movement has been supported by volunteers. It is supported by the European Commission and in Germany by a team of volunteer ambassadors (CodeWeek Germany).
