New for you: Summer in the Library of Things
Since June, the Central Library all customers the opportunity to borrow items . The offer is very popular and the items returned are often borrowed straight away. In order to further expand this attractive offer, the “Association of Friends of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen e. V.” voted for further funding and supported the purchase of new outdoor play materials.
On July 25th, Sabine Wenzel from the board of the support association presented the new summer things to Lucia Werder, deputy director of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen . New to the range are things like a slackline , a pop-up soccer goal , a Viking throwing game , a giant Mikado , a cross boccia , a beach shelter and much more.
“With this offer, customers can spend the summer creatively and experimenting and thereby make a contribution to environmentally conscious consumption: those who borrow, exchange and share throw away less,” emphasized Lucia Werder, deputy director of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen .
Sabine Wenzel from the board of the Friends Association is also happy, “Who has to have everything? Especially in times of climate change and a throwaway society, sensible use of resources makes sense. It’s great that the Central Library has the right and environmentally friendly offer for this.”
