Creative workshop for Free Comic Book Day
On May 14th, the central library will host a celebration for comic book fans. For Free Comic Book Day , both seasoned comic book enthusiasts and newcomers can not only snag three free comics but also get creative themselves. Bremen-based comic artist Mario Ellert open workshop for all ages from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , demonstrating how to create characters and short stories.
Right now, we're focusing a lot on digital drawing, animation, and storytelling. With the "TagTool" app, you can draw on your tablet and then animate the results. We'll explain how this works in our Fr3iraum workshops . And on May 25th, Mario Ellert will be our guest again, showing you how he creates his comic characters and develops the stories around them.
And what else is there on Free Comic Book Day?
Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., you can choose from 30 new comic releases at the Vahr and Vegesack libraries, as well as the central library, and take three home with you. Want a sneak peek? The selection includes manga, superheroes, Franco-Belgian adventures, Disney comics, and independent comics.
