Listening station on the subject of addiction in Gröpelingen

Voices from the off – Unheard stories of hope, crises, addictions

Interviews with 12 different people who talk about their lives can currently be heard at a listening station in the central library. All stories have one thing in common: drug consumption or experiences with addiction play a central role. In “Voices from Off” people who are otherwise rarely heard have their say. They report on their lives with consumption, but also on all sorts of other joyful and painful experiences, on relationships, work, dreams and failures, and also on their perspectives on the society in which they live and how it treats them .

On Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 4:30 p.m., the listening station will be presented by the project initiators in the central library.

The listening station is located from August 8th to 21st in the Central Library (Am Wall 201) and from August 22nd to September 4th in the Gröpelingen Library (Gröpelinger Bibliotheksplatz).

The stories are intended to help reduce the stigmatization of people who use drugs by giving listeners a greater understanding of their lives. In this way, people without drug or addiction experience should be able to get to know someone with whom they would normally hardly come into contact.
