“Host Language” – The literature festival in Bremen-Nord
“Host Language”, the literature festival for Bremen-Nord, is back!
During the period from February 28th
Until April 14th, 2020, over 30 readings will take place at more than 20 locations throughout Bremen-Nord as part of the festival.
Since its premiere in spring 2016, “Host Language” has been republished every year
and is now taking place for the fifth time.
The initiative for the festival came from the group of authors who presented their works in the
“Point 11” Stadtbibliothek Bremen -Vegesack City Library.
In addition to tried-and-tested reading formats at well-known venues,
the aim was to also enable more unconventional events related to literature and
to bring them together under the common roof of a festival.
Thanks to the initiative of the many literary professionals and institutions involved,
the festival program in 2020, as in previous years, offers a
large, colorful bouquet of diverse events that
leaves nothing to be desired for literature lovers: from readings with short prose and poetry to thrillers, crime novels
and childhood memories “Shared reading” not only
serves the entire spectrum of literary diversity - the variety of performance locations is also
alternate in home living rooms, in kindergartens, at local history and gymnastics clubs or, of course, in the Stadtbibliothek
