English-language reading in the Vegesack library

In April we dedicate ourselves to English Language Day with a reading, a film screening and a language café for the whole family. On April 23rd, the American writer Holly-Jane Rahlens her award-winning work “Future Fairy Tales” at the Vegesack Library. Holly-Jane Rahlens shows all her skills with these highly original fairy tale variations: whether Cinderella, Rapunzel or Sterntaler, the author skilfully plays with fairy tale motifs and tells them in a completely new way from a futuristic perspective. They are texts full of humor and depth, emotions and literary invention. And as if by the way, a whole new world is created in the distant future.
