Democracy needs libraries!

On the occasion of the day of the Basic Law, which came into force 70 years ago today, the German Library Association issued a statement reminding us that libraries play an important role in participation in our democratic society. As a library, we base our self-image on Article 5 of the Basic Law, which guarantees freedom of expression and information in the Federal Republic of Germany.
