The program of the 47th Literary Week

The Literary Week is taking place for the 47th time around the awarding of the Bremen Literature Prize
.
This year's focus is “And the moral of the story?
“The Society between Moral Preaching and Moral Criticism in Literature, Film and Art” awaits you from January 20th to 27th an
event program full of exciting readings, exhibitions, film screenings,
discussions and music as well as events for young people - some of them in the
Wall Hall of the Central Library.

At the start, the Spanish author José Ovejero from
his novel “Uprising” in the central library.
In addition to Ovejero, other well-known authors such as Berit Glanz (photo) , Hilmar
Klute , Pierric Bailly and Elisabeth
R. Hager are part of the program.

The program cinema City 46 is showing the French drama “Until the Border” and the
Kukoon is hosting an open mic evening on the topic “What is allowed, what must art?
Does it have
should it free itself from it completely?

One of the highlights this year is the awarding of the 69th
Bremen Literature Prize on January 23rd . This year's winner is Thomas
Stangl, who is being honored for his novel “Mercury Light”.
Martin Kordić received the sponsorship award for “Years with Martha”.

The two winners of the literary prize awarded by the Rudolf Alexander Schröder Foundation
will read excerpts from their works on Sunday, January 22nd, at 6 p.m. in the
small hall of the bell.
