The program of the 44th Literary Week

“It is what it is, says love…” In 1983, the main prize of the Bremen
Literature Prize was awarded to Erich Fried.
One of his most famous love poems is dedicated to the central question of what actually constitutes love and
ultimately leads to the realization “It is what it is…”.

The 44th Literary Week looks at love from different perspectives.
it deals with different lifestyles and love styles, which at
all times have been caught up in the wake of social changes
.
The authors of the 44th Bremen Literary Week write about love in different historical contexts and address relationship levels
in different dimensions.
There is the passionate love that unites, the love that makes you strong and even resists political systems of domination
.
But, there is also desperate, radical or painful love and the rebellion against conventional lifestyles.
The HOW is diverse, but the WHAT is existential and unshakable - love is the essence of our existence.
Let the multifaceted contributions surprise you and
rekindle your passion for literature!
