The Bremen Literature Prize 2022 goes to Judith Hermann

The winner of the Bremen Literature Prize 2022 has been chosen: J udith Hermann will receive the award worth 25,000 euros for her novel Daheim . She was awarded the Bremen Literature Prize in 1999 for her debut novel Summer House

Matthias Senkel will receive the 6,000 euro funding award for the Bremen Literature Prize 2022 for his volume of short stories Winkel der Welt.

The prizes will be awarded on January 24, 2022 in Bremen City Hall. On the evening before the award ceremony, January 23, 2022, a moderated reading by the two award winners will take place at 6 p.m. in the Glocke. 46th   Bremen Literary Week will be held around the time of the award ceremony .

The Bremen Literature Prize is one of the oldest and most important literary prizes in the Federal Republic. It was first awarded in 1954 and has been supplemented by a sponsorship award since 1977.
