Picture book cinemas and discussion event for integration week

Every two years, the Bremen Integration Week offers the opportunity to talk to each other and to stand together against discrimination, racism and exclusion. Different people with diverse experiences and perspectives exchange ideas on topics such as diversity, integration and good coexistence. This year the theme week will take place from November 1st to 6th. The motto is “Workers were called, but people came”.

We participate in the program with numerous events. We offer multilingual picture-book cinemas for the little ones in the central library and in the Osterholz and Huchting libraries. Families with children can also pick up free craft kits at the central library from November 1st.

At the discussion event “Children of Guest Workers – Bremen Contemporary Witnesses Remember,” children of so-called “guest workers” have their say and tell the stories of their parents from their perspective.

The events at a glance
