Barbara Lison retires
Since October 1992, Barbara Lison has headed the Stadtbibliothek Bremen . Now she has been retired in a ceremonial act by State Councilor for Culture Carmen Emigholz.
In addition to her passionate commitment to the Stadtbibliothek , Barbara Lison has taken over the presidency of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) for the last two years. She was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 2022 for her many years of national and international commitment to libraries.
She will be succeeded by Lucia Werder, who previously worked as first deputy director of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen .
