Stadtbibliothek Bremen and the Senator for Education will continue to provide all first graders with library cards in 2018

“AnSchuB for Bremen primary school children”

In order to promote the joy of reading at primary school age, the Stadtbibliothek Bremen together with the Senator for Education, has been implementing the reading promotion project AnSchuB (our BIBCARD for all school children) since 2015. Just in time for the turn of the semester, all first graders in Bremen will receive a reading motivation package from the Stadtbibliothek at their school, thanks to the financial support of the Collegium Foundation.

The children of the primary school on Augsburger Straße were particularly happy on Thursday, February 8th, because they received their AnSchuB envelopes personally from Nikola Schroth (representing the ill Senator for Children and Education) and the deputy as part of a reading Library director Lucia Werder. The two representatives were very pleased that the children had already been able to name numerous and different favorite books.

Thanks to the free AnSchuB BIBCARD, children whose parents agreed to participate when registering for school can now use the Stadtbibliothek Bremen and practice and deepen their reading skills with the help of a large selection of a wide variety of children's books. Author and songwriter Christine Raudies demonstrated how much fun it is to be enchanted by books with an exciting story in which the entire world of books had to be saved and two songs about reading.

In addition to all first grade classes, the Stadtbibliothek Bremen also invites parents to come to the library with their children. This way they can see what's on offer for themselves and, if necessary, have the normal children's BIBCARD issued, with which they can borrow not just two books, but all children's media.
