46th Bremen Literary Week starts

The 46th Literary Week begins in Bremen on January 21st.
Under the motto “The journey.
Longing, departure and discovery in literature, film and art” she approaches a partial aspect of the pandemic in the broadest sense.
Because we are currently experiencing particularly intensely how great our longing for distance is due to the new limits that the
pandemic is setting for us.
But also that you can look for and find happiness within yourself , your family and also in literature.

At the start, Svenja Leiber reads from her novel “Kazimira” in the Wall Hall of the Central Library
.
In it, the writer tells the story of three generations against the backdrop of an amber mine, two world wars and countless
human dramas.
In addition to Svenja Leiber, well-known authors such as Arnold Stadler and Katharina Döbler are part of the program.
The astronomer and author Ruth Grützbauch is a guest in the Wall Hall with her pop-up planetarium.

One of the highlights this year is the awarding of the 68th Bremen
Literature Prize on January 24th.
This year's winner is Judith Hermann (photo), who is being honored for her novel “Daheim”.
Matthias Senkel received the sponsorship award for “Winkel der Welt”.
On Sunday, January 23rd, the award winners will read from their award-winning works in the Glocke.
