28th bus library stop opened
The mobile library is expanding its network: The Stadtbibliothek Bremen 's mobile branch will now stop at Borgfeld Elementary School every two weeks. On Monday, August 14, Deputy Library Director Lucia Werder, mobile library manager Matthias Weyh, and Rainer Kulenkampff and Hermann Schünemann from the "Friends of the Stadtbibliothek" association officially opened the school stop for the library bus in the presence of class 2b and their headmistress, Barbara Claussen. After the students affixed the new location marker to the bus, the association presented the bus with a package of books. From now on, the mobile library will stop at Borgfeld Elementary School (Katrepeler Landstr. 1) every other Monday between 1 and 2 p.m.
On board the bus library, visitors can expect entertainment, information, and knowledge: novels, self-help books, children's books, and non-fiction for school, work, and leisure; from classics to current bestsellers; as well as CDs, films, and software for home computers. Through the bus library, interested citizens also have access to the entire collection of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen: from over half a million items in the Stadtbibliothek Bremen catalog, desired materials can be selected and ordered directly to their "own" bus stop. The bus library stops at 28 locations throughout the city.
