Advance care planning in a nutshell: More than just paperwork! Presentation by Jaqueline Jüling (Parity Society for Social Services Bremen, Bremen Home Visits PSGD)

Accidents and serious illnesses don't adhere to a schedule. Nevertheless, many people put off the topic of advance care planning. Under the title "Advance Care Planning Made Easy," the Stadtbibliothek , together with the Paritätische Gesellschaft für soziale Dienste (PSGD), invites you to a practical presentation that shows how to take simple steps to ensure peace of mind – for yourself and your loved ones.
In her presentation, Jaqueline Jüling, an employee of the PSGD and head of the Bremen Home Visits region, guides participants step by step through the "jungle" of documents and clarifies uncertainties regarding powers of attorney and advance directives. The presentation covers not only major topics such as living wills and powers of attorney, but also focuses on practical implementation in everyday life: How do I record emergency contacts, and who will actually take care of my pet? Why is a list of medications and pre-existing conditions vital in an emergency? The presentation also provides valuable information on bank powers of attorney and the question of when a disability card might be beneficial.
“Planning ahead doesn’t just mean making arrangements for the end of life, but also having the certainty that, in an emergency, everything is arranged according to the individual’s wishes,” explains Jaqueline Jüling. Following the presentation, there will be ample time to answer individual questions from the participants.
