“Meeting humanely – why we need an attitude that is critical of racism and sensitive to diversity”

Description

The current debates show that we live in challenging times and we have to find a way to deal with the complexity in our society. How can we meet each other without dehumanizing others and why is it actually so difficult to talk about racism? What fears are associated with this, what role can I take on and where does my political responsibility lie? Reflecting on our feelings and taking a stance that is critical of racism and sensitive to diversity can help us not to forget who we are - namely people.

Sara Paßquali , MA, is an expert in the field of racism criticism, including a focus on racism against Sinti* and Roma* and intersectionality. She works as an independent trainer and consultant.

The event starts with a welcome greeting from Lucia Werder, director of the Stadtbibliothek Bremen . The welcoming speech will be given by the Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Youth and Integration, Dr. Claudia Schilling.
