LibreOffice – the free office alternative

Description

Do you want to write texts, create spreadsheets, or design presentations – without being tied to large software companies? In this event, you'll get to know LibreOffice, a free and privacy-friendly alternative to classic office programs. Clear explanations and practical insights will help you get started right away. "Digital Independence Day" is regularly celebrated in Bremen by the Chaos Computer Club Bremen, the Datapunks, and the Bremen Climate Workshop. The organizers of "Digital Independence Day" are a group of tech enthusiasts who advocate for data privacy, digital self-determination, and a free society. A central concern is the critical examination of the power of large tech companies, especially those from the USA, and their influence on society and democracy. Under the motto "Digital Independence Day," the group, together with other organizations, calls for the conscious use of alternatives to large platforms on a regular basis. The goal is to become more independent and regain control over one's own data. This is not just about technology, but also about political and social issues. The "Digital Independence Day" aims to share this knowledge and empower people to navigate the digital world more safely and independently.
Through presentations and workshops, volunteers explain the available alternatives and how to integrate them into daily life. This program is explicitly designed for people without prior technical knowledge. It is part of Code Week.
