Fake News Workshop for Seniors

The internet makes it possible: News and information from a wide variety of sources can be accessed at any time. But this abundance of information also has its downsides. Because not everything online is true. And: Many fake news stories look authentic and reputable at first glance. Therefore, no one is immune to fake news. People who didn't grow up in the digital world and aren't very internet savvy, in particular, sometimes have difficulty recognizing false information. The Bremen State Media Authority therefore offers fake news workshops specifically for senior citizens in Bremen and Bremerhaven. In the 90-minute event, participants learn everything important about fake news and its dangers – using practical, real-life examples. The seniors also receive plenty of useful tips on how they can identify fake news themselves.
