Explore Science – Inventions and Discoveries

Description

Curiosity is the driving force behind progress: it leads to discoveries that change our world and to inventions that open up new possibilities. In 2026, Explore Science, the Klaus Tschira Foundation's STEM experience days, focuses on the spirit of inquiry that lies behind great ideas. This year, the theme is "Inventions and Discoveries." How do inventions come about? And how do they shape our lives today and in the future?

Explore Science offers exciting experiences for children and young people – free of charge and for all ages. The event aims to inspire children and young people in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM) and to enable them to explore connections for themselves. The Stadtbibliothek Bremen will also be present in tent number 2. You can find us in Bürgerpark, right next to the Marcus Fountain.

CRAZY LAB: Wonders, Research, and Amazement
. A bicycle? Already here. A toothbrush? Exists. A cell phone? It rings.
Almost everything around us is an invention. Discoveries by brilliant minds—sometimes thanks to mistakes and chance—have shaped our everyday lives. At the same time, there are still countless things being researched or further developed that can amaze us.

Come along and become inventors yourself: At three hands-on stations in our tent, you can combine media literacy with creative ideas – digital and analog – with a focus on experimentation.
