
"Beekeeping throughout the year"
Description
As in previous years, our beekeeper Markus Roose sharing his expertise on beekeeping on the first Saturday of every month this summer. Come watch him inspect the hives. He'll explain why three colonies didn't survive the winter due to parasites and how the new colonies were established. The new bees are sure to be so docile that you can get close to the hives and have a look inside. After all, when else do you get the chance to observe a bee colony in its natural habitat? Last year, the bees collected a lot of nectar and pollen, and the resulting Vegesack Library Honey is available for purchase on site.
Unless it's raining or stormy, Markus Roose will be there on Saturdays:
- October 5th (in warm weather)
Each time between 11 am and 1 pm, you can be in the garden of the Stadtbibliothek Bremennear the bees, and answer your questions.
