Our program for the Sustainability Action Weeks

Sustainable action and democratic participation – two topics that are inextricably linked. This year's Sustainability Action Weeks focus precisely on this connection. From September 17th to October 8th, a diverse program awaits you in our libraries. Among other things, we welcome the renowned science journalist Dr. Manuela Lenzen for a lecture. She has been studying the impact of artificial intelligence development on people and society for many years. Further highlights include a workshop by the "Digital Impact Lab" on "Democracy, Media Public Spheres, and AI," as well as a workshop on politicization through TikTok.

During the event days, children can help choose the content for the Picture Book Cinema or get creative in numerous upcycling workshops. The library in Vegesack invites everyone to Green Saturday on October 5th, featuring a food-sharing picnic, a clean-up, and a clothing swap for Halloween costumes. In Huchting, toys and children's clothing can be exchanged during opening hours during the event days.
