Program for World Book Day
On April 23rd, reading is celebrated worldwide – on World Book Day. We're joining in the celebration and warmly invite you to do the same!
Also on the program: a reading by Prof. Dr. Reiner Matzker in the Central Library. Starting at 7 p.m. , the communication scientist and freelance author will read from "Love and Loving – Reflections from the 20th and 21st Centuries." In his multifaceted text, he illuminates love in all its aspects – between idealization, doubt, and the disenchanting moments that are part of the nature of love.
From 3 pm to 7 pm, NOON (the café in the Kleines Haus at the Theater Bremen) will be buzzing with activity: At the "Market of Possibilities," you can browse, discover, and get involved. Experience the diversity of books in all their forms – from ebooks and audiobooks to Braille and large print, as well as easy-to-understand editions and film adaptations. Create your favorite comic with your own speech bubbles, pick up a small poetic gift from our "Poetry to Go" event, or contribute your thoughts to our interactive word cloud.
We also invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition "Simply Easy to Understand – Finally Knowing What It's About ." The exhibition impressively demonstrates the importance of clear language – and how we can work together to break down barriers. The tour begins at 4 p.m. in the Ring Gallery of the Central Library.
