Program for World Book Day

April 23rd is UNESCO World Book Day . For over 30 years, this day has focused not only on books and reading, but also on authors' rights and freedom of expression.

On this occasion, the Stadtbibliothek Bremen in cooperation with the Bremen Literature House, invites you to a diverse program at the Central Library. From 3 pm to 7 pm, numerous Bremen cultural and educational organizations will transform the activity area on the second floor into a vibrant marketplace of opportunities. Visitors of all ages can expect a varied afternoon with hands-on activities, workshops , and information and book stalls. For example, at the "Painting Machine," illustrators Martin Odermatt and Corinna Pourian will be on hand to create a unique work of art.

The day also offers plenty of literary highlights: Children's author Jörg Isermeyer will read from his book "Dachs und Rakete – Zusammen sind wir der Hit" (Badger and Rocket – Together We're a Hit). In the evening, the young Czech authors Eli Beneš and Alice Horáčková their new books. Additionally, Laura Müller-Hennig a writing workshop for young authors.
