Varied program for Diversity Day
To mark Diversity Day, we will be presenting a new exhibition at the Central Library starting May 7. "Exclusion from the National Community: Persecution of Homosexuals in the Nazi Era" focuses on the biographies of homosexual men and women from 1933 to 1945, their persecution by the police and judiciary, their deaths in concentration camps, but also their will to live, to experience friendship and love, and to organize social gatherings despite surveillance and threats. The exhibition will open on May 6 with a film screening followed by a discussion .
In addition, you can attend three other interesting events. Jako Wende will speak on May 13th. Matthias Lehmann will read from his graphic novel "Parallel". Dr. Lutz van Dijk will explore the question of whether there is such a thing as queer remembrance of the Nazi era on June 3rd.
The exhibition and event program is a collaboration between the Bremen Gay Friends Foundation, the Rosa Winkel Working Group, and the Berlin Cultural Association.
Program for children
In addition to the program for adults, we also offer a variety of activities for children of different age groups. Are there actually any queer heroes in games? Or heroes with disabilities? Fred Rössler is an expert in inclusive media work and explores these questions in a workshop for children and young people. There will also be multilingual picture book screenings and a reading with interactive digital stations.
